Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum of the Royal Family of Dubai has set up a new computer laboratory with 20 brand new pentium computers for Sheikh Hamdan Senior Secondary School in Yundum.
Speaking at the inauguration of the computer laboratory, Mr Kunkung Jobarteh, the Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Department of State for Education, applauded the donor for the gesture, noting that it will help greatly in providing ICT knowledge to students and teachers of the school. He advised the students to make the best use of the facility to enable them acquire skills in ICT.
A representative of the regional director of Munazamat also called on the students to make the best use of the facilities available to them. Mr Kebba Jagne, principal of the school, said the computer laboratory is an indication of the efforts of Munazamat to expose students to ICT.
He thanked the family of Sheikh Hamdan for donating the computers, noting that the school is the only Senior Secondary School for girls in the Western Division.
Haddy Faal, a grade 12 students of the school, noted that the computers will help greatly in exposing the students to ICT.
