Project C.U.R.E sends used medical equipment and supplies to hospital and clinics in countries where even the most basic medical supplies are lacking. In Lexington, Project C.U.R.E. is based at Hunter Presbyterian Church, but volunteers from many churches are involved. Donations are accepted from individuals, doctors, dentists, stores and medical facilities on a continuing basis. A special Drive-by Day is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. JUNIOR GARDENER CLASS

The Arboretum is offering a Junior Master Gardener class for young gardeners ages 8 to 12 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. on Thursdays, Feb. 1 through March 22. Students who attend one of the sessions, complete assigned projects, and volunteer service hours will receive a nationally-recognized certification as a Junior Master Gardener. MERTON DOCUMENTARY

A new documentary on renowned Kentucky writer Thomas Merton will premiere Thursday at Hehman Hall on the Christ the King campus, 299 Colony Boulevard. The title of the program is “Soul Searching, the Journey of Thomas Merton.” The showing is free.

Ashland, the Henry Clay Estate will host special Valentine Teas for different age groups of children on Feb. 10. Gale Warburton, a Lexington businesswoman, is hosting a tea and style show 2-4 p.m. Feb. 11 at the Signature Club of Lansdowne, 3200 Lansdowne Drive, to raise initial set-up funds and awareness for an independent transportation network for the Bluegrass region. The network will provide “door-through-door” transportation, 24 hours a day, seven days a week for any purpose, with no advance notice required for people ages 65 and older and people who are visually impaired.

This spring UK presents William Shakespeare’s tragedy Titus Andronicus and contemporary award-winning comedy As Bees in Honey Drown by Douglas Carter Beene. Titus Andronicus will be at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 15-17 and Feb. 22-24. A matinee of the tragedy will be presented at 2 p.m. Feb. 25. These performances will be staged in the historic Guignol Theatre on campus.

As Bees in Honey Drown will be at 7:30 p.m. April 19-21 and April 26-28, or at a 2 p.m. matinee April 29. This production will be presented in UK’s Briggs Theatre.
