I would like to thank the members of the Wayne County USBC Youth and Wayne County USBC Women and Scott Devers and Mike Aulby of Arrowhead Bowl in Lafayette for all of their help again this year in keeping the Chuck Kienzle Youth Scholarship going strong in our 10th year of giving scholarships to area youth bowlers. It’s always exciting for me to attend a closing for a family buying their first home. You never know what to expect.

This is to be done before your arrival at the closing table » Read more after the jump →

itle insurance typically is a mandatory and large cost for most home purchasers and mortgage refinancers - often in the $1,000 to $2,000 range. But is it priced too high for what you actually get?

Equally important: Do widespread referral relationships among realty brokers, title agents and mortgage companies restrict price competition, create anti-consumer conflicts of interest, and discourage buyers from shopping for lower-cost title insurance and closing service options?

The Government Accountability Office, Congress’ nonpartisan watchdog agency, made an in-depth examination of the title industry during the past year and came up with some » Read more after the jump →
