The scholarship called “Better Educators for Schools in Texas” or BEST will allow West Texas teachers to earn a master’s degree for less than 5,000 dollars.
Program coordinator, Megan Caudle, says it’s a win-win opportunity for educators and students, “teachers in many of the districts in this area do receive a higher salary if they have extra coursework or a master’s degree. so it’s really good for the teachers, and it also helps to have more knowledge about the subject they’re teaching.”
Application for the “BEST” master’s program is open to all school employees with a bachelor’s degree.
