London Met announced a new scholarship programme to be offered in conjunction with Asia House. The scholarship programme, aimed at students from Asia, offers one scholarship per year for students of International Relations and similar subjects. Please note that this scholarship is for Postgraduate studies only.
The scheme is designed to support those students from Asia who are looking for careers in politics, international relations, diplomacy and related subjects. Asia House is a leading international charity promoting understanding of Asian countries, their arts, religions and economies. Asia House will be involved in the selection of winning students and will offer an internship to the successful student, enabling them to gain practical experience of international relations whilst on their course.
The scholarship is open to all students from countries in Asia, from Iran in the west to Japan in the east, and from the Central Asian republics through to Indonesia.
Mark Bickerton, director of student recruitment, marketing and communications at London Met said: “We are pleased to be offering this scholarship with Asia House, an organisation with whom we have a number of common aims. The combination of a Masters from London Met, and experience at Asia House, will be a great boost for any students wanting a career in international relations.’
Stefan Kosciuszko, chief executive at Asia House, said: “Asia House is delighted to be in partnership with London Met on this Project. It will give an excellent opportunity to a young person from Asia to study for their masters degree at a leading London university, whilst obtaining practical work experience and an insight into contemporary international affairs. We are proud to be associated with a University with such vision and this type of initiative is an invaluable investment into the UK’s future relationship with Asia.
