The scholarships will be awarded at the DTDC Annual Awards Dinner/Dance to be held on June 22, 2008 at the Failte. Criteria for the scholarships vary between the High School, Middle School, Elementary and students attending the primary school.

Poster contests are being conducted for the children in the 2nd grade and 5th grade who are residents of Delaware or Dingmans townships. Submitted posters will be on display at the Delaware Twp. Municipal Building from May 17th-May 31st. Essays are required for 8th grade Ding-Del Middle school students and for graduating students at the Delaware Valley High School. The scholarship program is a joint effort between the DTDC, businesses and interested individuals. Cheryl Glenn, Chair of the DTDC stated, “It’s up to all of us to do what we can to support our teachers and our children. The scholarships are our way of helping parents defray some of the costs of supplies and books.”

The MALDEF Law School Scholarship Program awards scholarships up to $7,000 each year to deserving individuals entering their first, second or third years of law school. Students must be enrolled in law school full-time in the upcoming school year to qualify.

The scholarships are awarded to students based upon three primary factors:

a. demonstrated involvement in and commitment to serve the Latino community through the legal profession;
b. academic and professional achievement;
c. and financial need.

London Met announced a new scholarship programme to be offered in conjunction with Asia House. The scholarship programme, aimed at students from Asia, offers one scholarship per year for students of International Relations and similar subjects. Please note that this scholarship is for Postgraduate studies only.

The scheme is designed to support those students from Asia who are looking for careers in politics, international relations, diplomacy and related subjects. Asia House is a leading international charity promoting understanding of Asian countries, their arts, religions and economies. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) - Japan Scholarship Program (JSP) was
established in April 1988 with financing from the Government of Japan.
Japan Scholarship Program

It aims to provide an opportunity for well-qualified citizens of ADB’s developing member countries to pursue postgraduate studies in economics, management, science and technology, and other development-related fields at participating academic institutions in the Asian and Pacific Region.

Upon completion of their study programs, scholars are expected to contribute to the economic and social development of their home countries.

The annual awards full-time undergraduate students accepted to Sierra Nevada College. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA, and demonstrated leadership ability. An essay must be included with application packet. Recipients are required to provide service to the College. Number of awards and award amount may vary.
